The premiere of an exhibit of photographs of local LGBT Blacks took place Feb. 3 at Steelelife Gallery, 4655 S. King Drive.
Among the people currently in the exhibit are Chicago native and actor/singer Moshe Adams; activist and Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame member Jacqueline Anderson; Episcopal priest and Hall of Fame member The Rev. Juan Reed; actor/writer and long-term HIV survivor Sanford Gaylord; and Lorraine Sade Baskerville, founder of transGenesis and another Hall of Fame inductee.
Bill Greaves, Mayor Daley's LGBT liaison, was impressed by the turnout. 'There were over 400 people there,' he said. 'People came in waves. It was amazing.'
