Chinese New Year's Day Parade Has 1st Gay Float

San Francisco's Chinese New Year's Parade, which took place on Feb. 11, included its first gay and lesbian float, according to CBS5.com.

Gay and lesbian couples paraded through downtown San Francisco and Chinatown on the Gay Asian Pacific Alliance float, which was followed by supporters of same-sex marriage.

'This is an issue that our community truly embraces,' Alliance spokesman Andy Wong told a reporter. Wong also called the float 'a really great opportunity to showcase support for equal marriage rights.'
