SPANISH ACTIVISTS STRATEGIZE

About 150 activists from 30 organizations gathered in Madrid Dec. 6-8 for the second congress of the Lesbian and Gay State Federation.

Among other things they changed the association's name to the Lesbian, Gay, Transsexual and Bisexual State Federation.

Numerous politicians and union officials made appearances or spoke at the gathering.

Delegates unanimously passed a resolution expressing their 'repulsion' and 'condemnation' of 'a few businesses' merchandising use of the symbols of the GLTB movement, as in the case of the commercial patent registration of the phrase 'gay pride.''
