OK, so here's me. I met someone at the Bear

Dance this weekend and we hit it off. We made

plans to go out the following week. Unfortunately

I came down with a raging cold and had to

cancel. Now I know what you kids are thinking,

'Canceling a date on that day is rude!' Shut

your damn mouth, Judgey! I was waiting to see

if I felt better.

Now that summer is here, it's time to enjoy all

that this city has to offer. We eventually headed

over to Mayfest in Lincoln Square. It's a German

festival with polka bands, brats and lots of beer.

What better way to learn your date's tolerance

for alcohol and/or children! My date even won

me a stuffed animal at the midway. I named it

Mufti.

There is a different neighborhood festival almost

every weekend during the summer, so don't forget

about them. Midsommarfest in Andersonville

is right around the corner. Lincoln Square does

the same festival again in September, so don't

fret if you want to follow in my footsteps.

events happening in parks near you. And email

me your suggestions at mhampton1970@gmail .
