The crime occurred in April 2008. In what some have called the world's largest HIV vaccine trial ever, researchers have discovered that people who received a prime and booster vaccines were approximately 30 percent less likely to get HIV ( compared to those who received a placebo ) , according to CNN.com. The study was conducted in Thailand, with more than 16,000 younger adults ( 18-30 ) . Almost 8,2000 received a placebo and a comparable number received six vaccines over six months; the subjects were evaluated over a period of three years.
