The Advisory Council on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues hosted the 19th annual Pride and Joy Reception June 21 at Circuit Nightclub. Entertainer Miss Foozie hosted the fundraiser, which primarily serves to cover costs for the Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame in November; a drag revue by Veronica Zaid and other cast members of Circuit was among the other highlights.

State Treasurer and U.S. Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias was at the event, telling the crowd that he not only supported civil unions but full marriage equality, a message he said he has taken all over the state of Illinois.
