Nan Schaffer

Schaffer is a political activist and philanthropist in Chicago. She is a veterinarian and animal-rights activist especially focused on the survival of rhinos. Schaffer has been much-honored for her work in the gay community, including as part of IMPACT ( a gay political action committee ) and Horizons ( now Center on Halsted ) , and also as co-founder of Outlines newspaper, now Windy City Times.
