Susana Darwin has been lifelong activist in choice and glbt ( or how about "btgl," pronounced "batgirl"? ) issues. An attorney who works in publishing and keeps current with the legal scene by evaluating candidates with the globally unique Alliance of Bar Associations for Judicial Screening, she has also worked on several judicial election campaigns and is an Illinois Women's Institute for Leadership alumna. Darwin lives with her partner in Andersonville with a mouthy cat and a feisty beagle ( in honor of whom she calls herself a Blind Beagle Democrat ) .
