Donna Rose Weems is a cultural and political activist and long-time Chicagoan who recently retired to Mexico with her partner Rogeria Westbrooks. The couple had a commitment celebration at Affinity in 2007.

Weems writes: "I have likely been associated/worked with, or witnessed the birth of just about every queer group at one time or another. Literary Exchange: past Board, Officer; Affinity, volunteer; LLENA; supporter; Amigas, supporter; Independent Democratic Organization; Howard Brown volunteer ( when it was in the basement on Broadway ) ; Black Out; Black Gay and Lesbian Leadership Forum; Mountain Moving Coffeehouse: volunteer/supporter; N.A.M.E.
